Mary Lee Blaylock began her career in 1993 as a REALTOR® in Minneapolis. A natural leader, she was promoted to vice president of the relocation division of a large Midwest brokerage in 1999, facilitating 6,000 transactions annually within that department. In 2004, Blaylock started the national and international company, HomeServices Relocation, LLC where she served as president. Under her leadership, the organization grew from a startup company to a global relocation provider.
In 2014, she moved to California and became senior vice president and general manager of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, and was soon promoted to president and CEO. In June 2017, Blaylock also became west coast regional president for HomeServices of America, Inc. This year, Blaylock successfully changed the footprint of many offices to a future-focused design that supports technology, collaboration and the company’s forward-thinking culture. The company continues to lead in its markets, a fact Blaylock attributes to her high-caliber agents.
Blaylock describes herself as a hands-on leader who encourages her team to come forward with ideas and solutions. “Every day is filled with interactions with some of the most dedicated and sophisticated real estate professionals in the business,” she says. “I am a firm believer in doing the right thing. This is not to be confused with the easy thing – generally they are not the same. Choose to work harder, smarter and never lose your integrity. Always do the right thing, treating everyone with respect, and life will choose good for you.”
