Paul Wells, broker/owner of RE/MAX of Barrington in Barrington, Ill., is considered a real estate thought leader for his forward-facing mindset on important industry topics, especially multiple listing services (MLSs). The 30-year industry veteran serves on the board of managers for the Broker Public Portal (BPP), a collaborative venture between brokerages and MLSs that promotes its public-facing Homesnap brand.
In 2019, Wells helped BPP leadership in reaching the mark of 1 million agents across the country who have access to the Homesnap platform, including the mobile app Homesnap Pro. Homesnap is a national home search platform powered by real-time MLS data, and it follows Fair Display Guidelines. BPP’s goal with Homesnap is to provide an industry-friendly home search alternative that provides interested leads, for free, to the listing agent or broker and that delivers accurate, real-time MLS information to home searchers. Wells played a large role in helping Homesnap reach its new height in popularity, and his campaigning included being interviewed on Chicago’s WGN Radio.
Wells also serves on Midwest Real Estate Data LLC’s board of managers, helping to guide the strategic vision for one of the largest MLSs in the country. He began his real estate career after getting licensed in 1986 and then joining RE/MAX in 1987. Wells is the recipient of several awards, including Broker/Owner of the Year, Platinum and Hall of Fame awards.
