Scott MacDonald is a real estate investor, real estate broker, owner and president of RE/MAX Gateway, specializing in residential real estate and headquartered in Chantilly, Va.
Beginning his career in 1988 with Shannon and Luchs, MacDonald moved on from there to work with Prime Properties based out of Fair Lakes, Va., which is where he learned about land development, new-home sales, and developed his skills as a broker.
He joined the RE/MAX network in 2001 as owner of RE/MAX Gateway, and has grown the firm to five offices in the Northern Virginia and D.C. Metro real estate market.
The same level of commitment MacDonald provides to his clients has carried over to how he treats his agents, providing the tools, systems and training to make sure the firm’s agents thrive under any market conditions.
According to MacDonald, given the competitive complexity of the industry today, it’s all about giving agents the best tools to use. “You have the discounters, the disruptors and the DIYers,” MacDonald previously explained. “The more you can arm your agents with information about what happened in the past and what’s coming in the future, the better able they will be to serve their clients.”
MacDonald has received numerous accolades, including a nomination for REALTOR® of the Year and induction into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. He has served as a RE/MAX International Convention Speaker, a panelist for a National Association of REALTORS® focus group on RPAC and on the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS®’ Board of Directors.
