Serene Smith, COO at RE/MAX World Headquarters, collaborates with the CEO and other senior executives to develop corporate strategy and vision. Under her leadership, RE/MAX has invested in product development, expanded its tech talent, and remained committed to strategic innovation.

In 2020, Smith announced an organizational realignment to create a single technology team with over 200 members to promote collaboration and focus on user experience. She also played an instrumental role in recent tech acquisitions and worked to keep employees safe and keep their best interests top of mind during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Smith offers this advice: “Learn how to listen. That has gotten me further in my career than almost anything else. I listen and empathize with people, and that gives me the ability to look at a problem from all sides. Those traits by far have paid me the most dividends over the course of time.”
