Teresa Palacios Smith serves as the chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer for HomeServices of America, where she has provided training for more than 52,000 network agents. With more than 25 years of industry experience, she serves as a liaison to expand minority- and women-owned franchises and expand the company’s multicultural reach and focus on growing minority homeownership. Palacios Smith is dedicated to expanding leadership opportunities for women in real estate. In addition to her role, she has developed and launched a live speaker series on Facebook and YouTube and the Women Who Lead podcast, featuring influential female leaders in the real estate housing ecosystem.

“I am without words, but I have to tell you that to be in the company of the individuals receiving these awards, who I have admired for years…I am in awe,” said Palacios Smith. “This award doesn’t really apply to me as much as what’s happening in our industry today: women empowerment, women in leadership and in real estate. It is truly part of my appreciation that we acknowledge the importance of making sure we all have an even playing field and equal opportunity.”

Palacios Smith also served as president of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), one of the largest minority trade associations in the country with more than 75,000 members. She is co-founder of the NAHREP-Atlanta chapter and served as president in 2019. She is also past chair of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
