To help real estate agents boost slow-moving sales in a down economy, RealtyBid.com has announced it is offering a discount to real estate agents who want to use the online bidding service to help sell their properties.
Throughout the month of October, agents can post listings at no charge as part of the RealtyBid.com Agent Direct online bidding program, the company has announced. Typically, agents are subject to a $150 fee per posting through the RealtyBid.com service.
According to the company, online bidding provider RealtyBid.com has seen a steady increase in its Agent Direct program and in properties placed up for bid by real estate agents vs. REO properties provided by lenders. In August, RealtyBid.com offered real estate agents a complimentary trial of the service, and the response was so positive that the company is expanding its offering.
RealtyBid.com has also reported seeing an increase in the number of Agent Direct properties receiving bids, from 37 percent in 2010 to 47 percent in 2011.
“Right now, almost half of all agent-uploaded properties on our site are receiving bids—legitimate purchase offers,” RealtyBid.com President Tony Isbell said. The service is also on track to see as much as a 50 percent increase in the number of Agent Direct properties sold and closed in 2011.
“Agents find that RealtyBid.com can be a phenomenal sales tool for them. One of the real positives of bidding events is the ability to get potential buyers ‘off the fence.’” Says Isbell. “Putting a property up for bid creates a sense of urgency and encourages interested parties to act. We’ve helped agents sell slow-moving listings in less than 30 days.”
“We know that online bidding events are growing in popularity and are an important tool for real estate agents to have in their toolkit. We want to make it as easy as possible for them to use RealtyBid.com.”
