Realogy’s 950 employees were invited to the ceremony that took place at the front entrance plaza outside the building. They watched with cameras in hand and applauded as members of the news media took photos and videos of the guest speakers’ addresses.
“We took the building down to the steel and we added on to the facility,” said Hanson. “What you see today is 21st Century state-of-the-art and we congratulate the craftsmen who worked here, the architects for their design, and the Tishman Construction company.”
“Realogy has made a great neighborhood even better,” said Mayor Conley. “Thank you for choosing Madison and becoming part of the community.”
Realogy’s 175 Park Avenue headquarters location was creatively and efficiently transformed from an austere, outmoded call center into an inspiring, light-filled, office environment that marries workspace with nature and sets a new standard for the suburban office park. The building pulls nature directly into the office environment, creating a state-of-the-art workspace that is connected to its surroundings. The central courtyard divides the building into two parallel office bars, or wings, whose ends face the parking space. A central connector, the lobby space, is conceived of as an architectural promenade leading to the third floor by way of an ornamental stair sequence.
