Under the Affordable Care Act, beginning in 2014, Americans who can afford to buy health insurance are required to do so or pay a penalty when they file their federal tax return. Everyone must enroll in a health insurance program by the March 31, 2014 deadline.
With so much confusion surrounding the program’s rollout, members have asked for answers on how various plan options will affect them and their families. The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® has partnered with SASid, Inc. (Smart and Simple insurance development), under the REALTOR Benefits® Program, to administer a new member benefit, the REALTORS® Insurance Marketplace.
The Marketplace’s one-stop online shopping site is a valuable resource which makes the insurance buying process simple. It provides NAR members with a variety of insurance options in one place, including options that will meet the mandates of the Affordable Care Act.
Additionally, SASid’s team of licensed benefit specialists is available to personally consult and advise NAR members on their individual insurance needs. They understand the Affordable Care Act and the ongoing changes in health care reform, and they are available to provide full consultative services, answering questions and helping you understand what you need to do prior to March 31st. In this informative video, NAR President Steve Brown walks you through the requirement to have health insurance by March 31, 2014, under the Affordable Care Act.
