GMAC Mortgage Promotes Industry Leader Robert Sparrow to Senior Vice President

RISMEDIA, Jan. 29, 2007-GMAC Home Services announced the promotion of Robert N. Sparrow to senior vice president, GMAC Mortgage. In this position, Sparrow is responsible for GMAC Relocation Mortgage business, which provides customized finance solutions for Fortune 500 companies, their transferees, and their other employees. The division is based in Troy, Michigan.

Sparrow, who resides in Orange, California, has been with GMAC Home Service for more than 10 years and his list of accomplishments is, "highlighted by creativity, Premier Service focus on the customer, and empowerment of team contributors," said John Bearden, president and CEO of GMAC Home Services.

"When we looked at our senior leadership team, Bob was the consensus choice – while his knowledge of our business is deep, what really makes Bob stand out on our team is his attitude and drive," Bearden said. "He never loses focus on providing exceptional service to our customers."

During his tenure with the company, Sparrow founded GMAC Home Services' first mortgage partnership program for real estate brokers. As a result, this program served as GMAC Mortgage's launch point into the relocation and real estate businesses, and the creation of GMAC Home Services.

Between 1999 and late 2005, Sparrow led GMAC Home Services' mortgage operation for its GMAC Real Estate Franchise Operations. Consumer satisfaction results during that period were among the tops in the company.

In November 2005, Sparrow assumed responsibility for GMAC Relocation Mortgage production, client management, marketing and support functions.

"After a little more than a year, we are proud that Bob is moving into the top job of this business unit," said Bill Berkelbach, division vice president of GMAC Mortgage.
