Greater South Bay Regional MLS to Merge with MRMLS

RISMEDIA, August 28, 2007-In a move to ensure that its member real estate professionals have ongoing access to state-of-the-art residential real estate tools and readily available customer service and support, the Greater South Bay Regional Multiple Listing Service has agreed to merge with the Multi-Regional Multiple Listing Service, the leadership of both organizations announced.

Consisting of the South Bay Association of Realtors, the Palos Verdes Association of Realtors and the Inglewood Board of Realtors, the GSBRMLS has a member base of 6,000 real estate agents and brokers.

Already the 9th largest MLS in the nation, the MRMLS will grow from 30,000 members to 36,000 by the merger’s target launch date of Tuesday, Dec. 4. The combined service will span a vast geographic region extending from the beach communities of the South Bay and Palos Verdes, and from Arcadia through the Inland Empire and down to Temecula.

“The MRMLS Matrix is one of the top-rated MLS software applications in the United States,” said Donna O’Donnell, President of MRMLS. “Combine a superior product and a seamless transition with unprecedented technical and customer support and it’s easy to understand why the leadership of these three Associations of Realtors voted to join with the MRMLS.”

“MRMLS is actively involved in Southern California data sharing and other major initiatives,” said Jeffrey Butscher, president of the GSBRMLS. “MRMLS is a goal-oriented organization that is striving to be the best MLS in the area. We believe they will be great partners in meeting all of our real estate technology needs.”

The MRMLS runs a full-data delivery center in a government-hardened facility with an on-site staff that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It currently supports over 50 servers and multiple operating environments with easy expansion capabilities built into the existing systems and facilities.

The MRMLS already is in the process of hiring additional staff to accommodate the heavier workload that will result with a surge of 6,000 new users.

MRMLS has a technical support team available to answer on-line and telephone inquiries from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as, 24-hour access to online training resources and documentation.

“The MRMLS will offer training at each of the three Associations of Realtors that are part of the GSBRMLS. It also will send a team of instructors for onsite training at broker offices for groups of 20 or more users,” said O’Donnell.

“Combine these services with our powerful transaction management system, cutting-edge mapping capabilities and access to quick, accurate reporting tools, and you can begin to see the competitive advantage that our members enjoy,” said O’Donnell.

Already the ninth largest MLS in the nation, the MRMLS currently serves nine local Associations of Realtors: Arcadia AOR, Montebello Board of Realtors, West San Gabriel AOR, East Valley AOR, Inland Valleys AOR, Corona Norco AOR, Tri-Counties AOR, Citrus Valley AOR and Southwest Riverside AOR.
