RISMEDIA, Sept. 19, 2007-First American Title Insurance Company has announced it will launch a Multicultural Awareness Campaign by observing all ethnic holidays beginning with Hispanic Heritage Month. The campaign will also include the observance of Black History Month, the Chinese and Vietnamese New Year, and other Multicultural holidays as an educational tool for all First American Team members.”Our home buying audience is changing and brings with it rich cultural experiences,” said Jessica S. Verduzco, regional director of Emerging Markets for First American Title Insurance Company. “By empowering the First American team with the cultural knowledge to work successfully with the new home buyer, we will not only increase opportunities for those real estate professionals, but create homeownership opportunities for our diverse community.”

According to the 2005 HMDA report, Multicultural home buyers made up 24.4% of industry loan production and is expected to increase to 30% in the 2006.

Earlier this year, First American hosted an event to celebrate the Asian culture in conjunction with the Chinese New Year and opened an office whereby Fung Shui principles were incorporated throughout. In addition, First American staffed the location with employees who are fluent in numerous Asian dialects. First American also currently has a location targeted at serving the Hispanic community located in northwest Houston.

“The Multicultural awareness campaign is aimed at helping First American team members better understand cultural and language nuances that often arise when members of minority communities enter the home buying process,” said Verduzco. “The campaign will be launched in each office located throughout the South central and Midwest regions and will be comprised of educational posters and trivia designed to add fun to the outreach.”
