RISMEDIA, March 26, 2007-RE/MAX International announces that franchising rights for Poland have been purchased by three Chicago area real estate professionals. The close friends, who are now international business partners, are Henry Sakowski, Stanley Korzeniowski, and Waldemar Chodakowski. All three are natives of Poland and they plan to each be responsible for managing RE/MAX operations in one of three geographic regions.
"These three individuals have lots of enthusiasm for the RE/MAX system and we expect them to do well" said William Soteroff, senior vice president of International Franchise Development at RE/MAX International.
Sakowski is currently the broker/owner of one of Chicago's most successful real estate operations, RE/MAX City, which has over 300 sales associates. He left Poland in 1983, joined RE/MAX in 1991 and started RE/MAX City in 1993. Sakowski has been recognized with numerous distinguished industry awards.
Korzeniowski was born and educated in Poland and earned a Master's degree in International Travel Service in Krakow. He obtained an Illinois real estate license and became affiliated with RE/MAX City.
Chodakowski was also born in Poland and attended university in Gdansk. He moved to Chicago in 1984 and has been an active real estate investor with Sakowski and Korzeniowski.
In 1989, Poland broke free of Soviet control and joined the European Union in 2004. With its current population of 38.5 million, Poland is the 6th most populous nation in the EU. The Polish GDP is the 23rd highest in the world. The rapidly developing economy of Poland is creating a booming real estate market.
Sakowski sees a bright future in Poland. "We think it's the right place at the right time. The RE/MAX concept has been welcomed in so many other European countries, it's just a matter of time before the people of Poland embrace it too."
