RISMEDIA, Jan. 18, 2008-In a day and age when the roads are becoming increasingly more crowded, it is no wonder that real estate companies are taking their advertising to the road as well. With the help of On the Move, Prudential California Realty has given drivers something different to look at as they are headed down the highway.
It all began a couple of years ago when Peggy Nelsen’s broker heard about On the Move from a real estate publication. “When I started at Prudential a year-and-a-half ago, I read and learned more about On the Move. I was impressed with the ways in which it could ultimately help our company,” says Nelsen, marketing director at Prudential California Realty. It wasn’t long after this that the decision to buy a truck was made. “We started the dialogue with On the Move in August 2006, and we got our two trucks delivered to us by November .”
The decision to buy two trucks had a lot to do with the geography of the counties that Prudential serves. “We serve two different counties that are both part of a rural area, so they are not close together distance-wise. Purchasing two trucks made the most sense in this situation. We felt that the trucks would enhance the overall services that our sales professionals provide to both their buyers and sellers.”
Having had their trucks for a little over a year, Nelsen has found the benefits to work to their advantage. “The trucks provide us with a ‘moving billboard,’ a different means of exposure than most real estate agencies are used to.” She goes on to say that “not everyone reads the paper or other publications, or listens to the radio. Our trucks allow us to reach out to perspective buyers and sellers, giving us the exposure that we need.”
On the Move has brought advertising to a whole new level-a level of mobility, especially within the real estate industry. The idea behind mobile advertising is to reach as many eyes as possible within the shortest period of time. Having to deal with strict sign ordinances in both of the counties they serve, the mobile billboard that the trucks provide, allows Prudential to bypass these architectural sign laws.
“The truck is constantly on-the-go, allowing for a greater amount of people to see it,” she says. “Even when the truck isn’t moving, it is parked prominently in the parking lot of the office. You can’t miss our trucks. They are always visible, whether they are on the road or in the parking lot.”
Not only do the trucks benefit Prudential, but they also benefit the entire community. “Anyone who buys or sells with our company has free access to our trucks.” Taking this a step further, members of the community are allowed to use the trucks as well.
“Community service organizations are big in this area. We have lent the trucks out to rotary clubs, the school system and organizations that are participating in fundraising events.”
“Having our On the Move trucks has raised our level of professionalism and exposure within the community. With each sale, we send out a customer survey to our clients. The trucks have been mentioned as a great service. All of these things have elevated us in the public’s eye.”
