RISMEDIA, April 22, 2008-The 2008 Cartus Broker Network International Conference was held April 10-12 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The awards ceremony included the presentation of the Network’s three leading awards. CENTURY 21 Alliance of Philadelphia captured the Cartus Broker Network Cup. Accepting the Cup on behalf of CENTURY 21 Alliance were Principal Broker and CEO Bill Hess, Vice President of Relocation, Evelyn Ferrara, Broker/Owner, William Smith, Broker, Marie Miller, and Outbound Coordinator, Kathleen Crane. The brokerage had been a Cup finalist in each of the three previous years.
Another Philadelphia firm – Coldwell Banker Preferred – won the Master’s Cup. Coldwell Banker Preferred CEO, Harry Caparo, President, Regina Coia, and Relocation Director, Sue DeLuca, were presented with the trophy. The award lineup also included the United Kingdom Cartus Cup, which went to FBM of Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Dominic Subbiani, a partner at FBM, accepted the honors for the U.K. winners.
Almost 600 attendees participated in the three-day event, which featured interactive workshops, roundtable discussions, a keynote speech from a real estate industry pioneer, and an awards ceremony recognizing the Network’s outstanding performers.
“The theme of our conference this year was ‘The Power of Performance’,” said Deb Williams, senior vice president, Cartus Supply Chain Management. “Throughout the conference our speakers and brokers discussed how perseverance, drive, leadership, and teamwork help this Network perform at a high level. Especially rewarding, in today’s challenging market environment, is to see the passion our brokers have for service and achievement, and witness the tremendous results they achieve.”
In his keynote address, Jay Schweppe, vice president, strategic initiatives at NRT LLC, spoke of the need to create a perception of value in the marketplace and the importance of understanding how emotion factors into the home sale process. Schweppe, who is known for his innovative approaches to selling real estate, has been quoted in Money and Success magazines and has been interviewed on “Good Morning America” and MSBNC.
Representing more than 1,000 of the top-performing brokers across the country, the Cartus Broker Network provides real estate brokerage services to the clients and customers of Cartus’ affinity, corporate, and government clients. In 2007, the Broker Network closed approximately 65,000 properties on behalf of Cartus clients with an approximate value of $18.9 billion.
