Century 21 Real Estate Hosts International Convention in San Antonio

RISMEDIA, March 10, 2009-Century 21 Real Estate LLC, the franchisor of the world’s largest residential real estate sales organization kicks off its annual international convention for CENTURY 21 brokers and agents today in San Antonio, Texas. The convention is part of an ongoing effort to provide support for the Century 21 System to help build consumer confidence. The convention will feature several learning sessions conducted by professional speakers, educators and Century 21 International Headquarters’ leaders who will showcase new initiatives and programs underway for the Century 21 System. The convention will last until March 12, 2009, and is being held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

“Despite the current economic conditions, we continue to take a leadership position in the real estate industry,” said Tom Kunz, Century 21 president and CEO. “Now more than ever, our convention provides the perfect opportunity for Century 21 leadership to work with brokers and agents to help address the needs and desires consumers have when looking to buy or sell a home.”

The Century 21 System is dedicated to building consumer confidence in the home buying and selling process. Century 21 leaders have recently developed several programs in an effort to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to home buyers and sellers to help recognize the opportunities that exist in today’s housing market.

To further emphasize the Century 21 System’s commitment to rebuilding consumer confidence, the company will announce the Century 21 ‘Path to Your Dreams Sweepstakes’ at the convention. The sweepstakes will kick off April 1 and run during the Century 21 April Open House Month campaign. This multi-tiered promotion is designed to build excitement around the pursuit of home ownership. Through the sweepstakes, Century 21 is paving the way for one lucky winner to earn $221,000 toward the home of their dreams. “The sweepstakes gives us the opportunity to reemphasize our commitment to helping consumers realize their dream of homeownership,” said Kunz.

Easter Seals 30th Anniversary

In addition to recognizing Century 21 brokers and agents for their commitment to helping consumers, at the convention, Century 21 will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its philanthropic partnership with Easter Seals, a nonprofit, community-based health agency dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities gain greater independence.

Since 1979, the Century 21 System has raised nearly $98 million on behalf of Easter Seals and stands as the organization’s all-time leading contributor. Despite the challenging economy, the Century 21 System raised over $2.58 million in 2008 alone and has set the goal of reaching a grand total of $100 million in contributions by the end of 2009.

“Century 21 brokers and agents across the nation have championed Easter Seals since 1979 and we are so grateful for the continued support,” said James E. Williams, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Easter Seals. “Contributions from the Century 21 System have allowed Easter Seals to help people living with autism, military service members and veterans, older adults and young children realize dreams and accomplishments never thought possible.”
