RISMEDIA, November 23, 2009—Realty Executives International, Inc. launched an official Facebook page, called Realty Executives International, and Twitter profile, called @realtyexec, this month. Nearly 600 “fans” on Facebook and “followers” on Twitter received play-by-play social media correspondence at the 2009 National Association of Realtors (NAR) Convention and Expo Nov. 13-16.
“We are expanding ways to offer clarity, guidance and a holistic perspective on the real estate market,” says Rich Rector, owner and executive chairman of Realty Executives International. “These public platforms allow us to have a candid and open dialogue with our Executives (sales associates), consumers and journalists from around the world.”
During the NAR convention, Realty Executives uploaded photos and videos from the Grand Opening ceremonies, their Expo booth, education sessions and the Realty Executives “Unplugged” event at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp District. Footage included candid photos and video of Rector playing the electric guitar and singing with the live band.
“Social networks allow us to reach our Executives, and our Executives to reach the consumer, with great precision and accountability,” states Glenn Melton, chief executive officer of Realty Executives International. “It is imperative that we as a real estate industry embrace new and progressive ways to communicate and engage. Social media is here to stay and resistance is only prolonging the inevitable and resulting in missed opportunities to grow.”
