RISMEDIA, March 30, 2011—Responding to the rapidly evolving pace of technology and information delivery, RISMedia, the leader in real estate information systems, announced today the launch of its Daily Video News Update, now featured in each edition of the media firm’s Today’s Real Estate Advisor e-newsletter.
“We are taking video to a much higher level than ever before in our industry,” says RISMedia President & CEO John Featherston. “Although we have been producing video as part of our news and information operation for several years now, we have now committed to incorporating unique daily videos into our widely read, national e-newsletter.”
According to Featherston, RISMedia’s ramped-up video effort is a byproduct of the exponential growth of video in general. “More video was loaded to YouTube in the last two months than if ABC, NBC, and CBS had been broadcasting new content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year since 1948,” explains Featherston, citing RISMedia’s video “The Power of Information,” launched earlier this week. “YouTube receives more than 2 billion viewers a day and has become the number-two search engine, second only to Google. As a media firm and central information resource for the real estate industry, it is RISMedia’s responsibility to bring relevant information to real estate professionals and their consumers through the most effective delivery methods, including video.”

Subscribers to RISMedia’s Today’s Real Estate Advisor will now find a new, Daily Video News Update in each edition of the e-newsletter. Developed in conjunction with industry video producer VScreen, topics will range from important real estate news bulletins to cutting-edge business development strategies. Upcoming topics include “Mortgage Tax Break Fight,” “Housing Affordability,” and “Five Twitter Strategies that Work,” for example. On RISMedia’s custom-built media player, readers can not only view the Daily Video News Update but access other news content and previous videos as well.
“We have been serving the real estate industry and home-buying and -selling consumers for more than 30 years,” says Featherston. “Going forward, video will become an even more significant communication tool for us to reach our readers, where ever they may be—at home or on their mobile device.
