Real Estate Search Engine Gives New Meaning to Online Matchmaker

Print Article Print Article

RISMEDIA, July 13, 2011— With high housing inventories and low prices there is no question that the current local housing market is a buyer’s market. So why does the average real estate search engine focus on what the seller has to offer instead of what the buyer is looking for? Marshall Saunders and John Collopy, co-owners of RE/MAX Results, have addressed this question and now feature Buyer Listings on their company web site, www.results.net.

Buyers, who are currently under contract with a RE/MAX Results associate, can chose to register a few important pieces of information about the types of property they’re interested in, such as price range, square footage, number of bedrooms, and specific neighborhoods. This information is then made available as search criteria for existing or potential sellers who can then type in pertinent information about their home for sale and find RE/MAX Results associates with buyer clients looking for homes with similar features.

Saunders says it’s like a dating service for homeowners. “Instead of bringing couples together it brings together buyers and sellers. Sellers who want or need to sell their home can peruse the Buyer Listings and see if there are potential buyers for them. We are basically facilitating one’s wants and needs with another’s qualities and features…like a matchmaker.”
