Agents, have you ever listed or sold a home owned by a celebrity? If so, we want to know about it! RISMedia is excited to announce that in 2012 we will be significantly expanding our coverage of celebrity homes and their famous—or infamous—owners.
For example, we read today that Michele Klosson of Sotheby’s International Realty recently listed one of the two Greenwich, Conn. homes of Regis and Joy Philbin, which was reported as selling for $3 million. According to the report, the 6,000-square-foot home, which has four bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a tennis court and a swimming pool, was first listed for sale in 2008 for $5.9 million. The Philbins took it off the market and then listed it for sale again in 2011 for $3.8 million.
Historically, RISMedia has covered celebrity real estate news periodically along with our weekly featured listing column. We are looking forward to adding this exciting, new inclusion with our weekly news to keep you informed on not only the news of the day, but a little celeb-dish too—something fun and light—and for those agents or brokers who have listed or sold a celebrity home, a great opportunity to showcase yourself nationally.
So what counts as a celebrity home? It can be the listed or sold home of any person of note, everyone from actors, television personalities, musicians, entertainers, to sports figures, politicians, artists, writers, or pop culture icons. You can even submit a listing where the home itself is the star – did you ever list the “Christmas Story” house? “Home Alone” house? “Amityville Horror” house? (How many days on market for that house…yikes!)
Your submissions can be celebrity homes you are currently listing and/or celebrity homes that you have listed or sold at any time in the past. Submissions should include the celebrity name of the buyer or seller, what the home is/was listed for and what it sold for, if applicable, who it was sold to, if the buyer is also a person of note, and any other interesting features or trivia about the home. Please include the city and state of the listing along with one or more photos of the home. Include your name, company and contact information as well.
Please submit your celebrity home listing to: Maria Patterson, executive editor, at realestatemagazinefeedback@rismedia.com. We look forward to bringing you this fun, new feature in the coming weeks!
