In his new role, Hansen will be responsible for expanding and enhancing J. Rockcliff’s in-house risk management capabilities and offering an even higher level of service to agents and their clients in day-to-day transactional activities and any issues, both potential and actual, associated with them.

An established and respected expert in risk management, Hansen has nearly four decades of Bay Area real estate experience harking back to 1973 where he served as a sales associate for Golden Land Realty in Petaluma. Throughout his career he has held executive level positions in risk management for companies such as Prudential California Realty, Cashin Company REALTORS® and Pacific Union, which showcased his expertise in managing transaction issues, case management, mediation and mitigating litigation. Hansen has also served as an expert witness providing testimony in dozens of cases with respect to a California real estate licensee’s affirmative duties owed to a buyer or seller, and the standard of care associated with those duties, as they relate to an individual real estate transaction.
Vastly active in the industry, Hansen has served in myriad high profile positions with California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) that have developed and proposed legislation, criteria, mandates and standards that positively impact the process of home buying and selling in California. He has also served as a CAR Director for more than 27 years. His many professional accomplishments include recognition as Petaluma Realtor of the Year, Sonoma County Realtor of the Year, Branch Manager of the Year and NorCal Society of Excellence awards.
A Bay Area native, Hansen makes his home in Petaluma with his wife of 40 years. He has two grown children and recently celebrated the birth of his first granddaughter.
