Metropolitan Regional Information Systems, Inc. (MRIS) has announced that the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, Southern Division, has granted MRIS a preliminary injunction against defendant American Home Realty Network (AHRN), owner/operator of the Neighborcity.com website. According to the announcement late Wednesday, the preliminary injunction restricts the unauthorized use of copyrighted content from the MRIS Database, as follows:

“Defendant AHRN and all persons acting under its direction, control or authority are hereby enjoined from unauthorized copying, reproduction, public display, or public distribution of copyrighted content from the MRIS database, and from preparing derivative works based upon the copyrighted content from the MRIS Database.”

Company officials stated that the injunction “is an important step forward for MRIS’ mission to protect its subscribers and the consumers who rely on information legitimately sourced from MRIS.”

Company officials formally stated that the legal documents speak clearly of the matter at hand and currently have no further comment.
