Next month, on the heels of the 2012 presidential election, REALTORS® will head to Orlando to join industry experts, lawmakers and government officials at the 2012 REALTORS® Conference and Expo to address crucial issues facing today’s residential and commercial real estate markets.

Approximately 21,000 REALTORS® and guests are expected to attend meetings and sessions throughout the week, analyzing current real estate market trends and examining the critical regulatory and legislative issues facing the industry in 2013, including mortgage financing, credit availability, and tax policy.

Incoming National Association of REALTORS® President Gary Thomas will hold a news conference on Friday, Nov. 9, from 10:30-11 a.m. to discuss NAR’s 2013 public policy agenda, and directly following that at 11 a.m., NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun will present his 2013 real estate market forecast. On Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10-10:45 a.m., NAR Vice President for Research Paul Bishop will present new findings from the 2012 NAR Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers. All news conferences will take place in the Orange County Convention Center, West Building, Room 223A.

Yun will join Mark Vitner, managing director and senior economist at Wells Fargo, to discuss residential market trends and how changing dynamics in the mortgage finance arena will impact the housing market at the “Economic Issues and Residential Real Estate Business Trends” forum on Friday, Nov. 9 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Later that day, a representative from the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts will join Yun to discuss the commercial real estate outlook and financing landscape at the “Economic Issues and Commercial Real Estate Business Trends” forum from 1-3 p.m.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency’s Wanda DeLeo will speak during the “Housing Finance: Today and Tomorrow” forum, to share the latest developments and future plans in mortgage finance through the Federal Housing Administration, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, on Friday, Nov. 9, 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
