Digitally Mastered: zipLogix Increases Productivity by Bringing Efficiency and Peace of Mind to the Real Estate Transaction

Less Risky Business

Solutions from zipLogix also offer brokers, agents and consumers something you can’t quite put a value on: peace of mind through risk mitigation.

zipLogix Digital Ink® e-signatures provide one component of risk mitigation. “It’s critical that consumers have the confidence that their transactions are secure—that the documents can’t be altered after the signature is applied,” says Barnett. “This is extremely important to our members.”

Online forms management is yet another component. “Having a standardized form that agents know how to use and that is consistent and up-to-date and legal is critical,” says Bushnell. “zipLogix allows us to update forms immediately to be compliant with requirements and laws.

“Of all the people at risk in the transaction, consumers are number one,” Bushnell adds. “If there’s going to be a dispute, it’s going to be between the buyer and seller of a property and the agent often gets looped into these problems. But the better the form, the better the process, the better the tracking, and the less likelihood there is to be a misunderstanding.”

“zipForm® gives the broker a much stronger tool than ever before to stay in compliance with codes and policies,” agrees Dines. “If they’re using the forms, agents are protected. This takes the pressure off brokers and allows us to spend more time on training and education, which is the most critical part of keeping an office going.

“My fear is always, ‘What is my newest agent doing at the kitchen table at 10:00 p.m. in order to secure their first transaction? Have they crossed the line or gotten into the weeds?’” explains Jones. “From the broker’s standpoint, zipLogix’s solutions allow us to sleep a little more soundly. From the agent’s standpoint, zipLogix gives them that peace of mind that someone is looking over their shoulder and blessing their work.”

Giving Consumers What They Want

While zipLogix has created digital solutions to benefit brokers and agents, the ultimate beneficiary is the consumer. And consumers would expect nothing less.

“The practice of real estate is about the relationship and personal contact,” says Barnett, “but there’s more and more technology associated with the transaction and that’s now expected by the consumer.”

According to Bushnell, conducting real estate business without a digital strategy is not sustainable long-term. “The vast majority of transactions today happen online. There’s less room for mistakes, like transposing numbers or misspelling names. Those things are eliminated when you have a product like zipForm® that autopopulates based on the information that’s been input.”

According to Dines, doing business digitally is increasingly expected by today’s consumers. “Sometimes agents are dragged into it by their customers who will say, ‘Can’t you just email me? Why do we have to set up a night-time meeting to sign this?’”

“We have moved into this lightning-fast world where when someone asks about a property, they’re expecting an answer very quickly,” says Jones. “Expedited information and contracts have now become the norm.”
