It’s no secret young buyers have faced challenges when it comes to saving money to purchase a home of their own thanks to limited job opportunities and skyrocketing debt. Despite all this, the millennial generation still believes in homeownership. To help them achieve that dream, the National Association of REALTORS® has identified five cities where homeownership is more attainable for millennials:
Austin, Texas
Minneapolis, Minn.
Denver, Colo.
Seattle, Wash.
New Orleans, La.
The infographic below provides a snapshot of what it’s like for a millennial to purchase a home in these cities. For instance, in Austin, the unemployment rate is just 4.5 percent and the median home price is under $250,000.
