Prudential California Realty Joins Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Network

Home News

Reading Time: 2 mins read

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, part of the HSF Affiliates LLC family of real estate brokerage franchise networks, has announced that Prudential California Realty has joined the network operating as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.

The brokerage, perennially among Prudential Real Estate’s Top 50 companies, generated nearly a half-billion dollars in sales volume last year. It is the next in a growing roster of affiliates that has joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices since September 2013. The network now counts nearly 34,000 agents and 1,038 offices operating in 47 states.

“With this transition we launch an exciting, new era for our brokerage,” said Broker/Owner Bruce Short, who has owned the company since 1975. “Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices—a network inspired by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc.—is an incredible brand with an impressive value proposition. We consider this the branding opportunity of a lifetime.”

Added Broker Rick Elorriaga: “The combination of our strong brand and skilled, experienced agents will represent the finest in South Bay real estate. People will look for our Cabernet and White yard signs as symbols of quality service and expertise.”

California Properties operates three offices with 160 agents. The brokerage’s Torrance/Skypark headquarters in September was tapped as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ 1,000th office. “We’re proud to be a part of such a quality network,” said Jerrie Short, the company’s vice president for Public Relations and Events.

With their transition, California Properties agents gain access to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ powerful Global Network Platform—a suite of online tools, applications and services—plus ongoing businessconsultation, professional education and marketing support. Resources include powerful lead generation, a handy mobile app and other tools powered by the cleanest, most accurate real estate data available.

California Properties will commemorate its brand transition with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. The brokerage will be joined by HSF Affiliates CEO Earl Lee, members of local chambers of commerce and other officials. Bruce Short, Jerrie Short and Elorriaga will present a $15,000 check to G.W. Bailey, executive director of the Sunshine Kids Foundation, to help the foundation in its mission to support children with cancer. The brokerage was Prudential Real Estate’s No. 5 fundraiser for the Sunshine Kids in 2013.

In addition, the brokerage will spotlight its new brand this weekend during the “Cabernet Caravan,” a series of open house events at 44 prime listings. California Properties’ Cabernet and White yard signs are now appearing throughout the South Bay.

Earl Lee, CEO of HSF Affiliates, welcomed the brokerage. “Bruce, Rick, Jerrie and the team represent some of the finest in local real estate,” Lee said. “We are proud they chose to go forward with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.”
