James Taylor’s Childhood Home Hits Auction

Fans of famed troubadour James Taylor, rejoice. You can now live in the star’s childhood home. Well, if you win it at auction, that is.

With a sleek, modern look, the home and guest house—built in 1952—incorporate the work of three renowned architects: George Matsumoto, John Latimer and Arthur Cogswell. Resting on over 24 serene acres in the heart of Chapel Hill, the country singer’s past pad spans over 3,760 square feet.

The Taylors owned the home for over 20 years, and James spent his formative years romping the grounds and listening to tunes with his siblings. Rumor has it the singer’s initials are still carved in the back deck.

Don’t want to purchase the home but still want the honor of cruising the grounds? You can purchase a $7 (yep, just $7!) Tour Ticket and on July 2, you can explore the country home that housed a legend.
