Real Estate Marketing Strategies: Increase Your Power to Attract Prosperity

RISMEDIA, February 24, 2011—In the last 14-plus years as a Law of Attraction business coach, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing hundreds of very successful real estate professionals. I was able to ask them the secret to their success and the answer that I always got was their mindset.

In other words, after talking with seasoned real estate professionals who had been through up markets and down markets, difficult markets and easy markets, they all said one thing: it was their mindset, and specifically their ability to create a positive mindset that increased their power to attract prosperity.

The biggest challenge facing real estate professionals today is that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to develop a positive mindset. I have real estate professionals emailing and calling me about the same question: how can I be positive when it looks like the real estate market is collapsing all around me? How can I be positive when I turn on the news and all of it is bad? Many real estate professionals are concerned, rightfully so, about how they’re going to reach their financial goals in today’s market.

I always recommend to my clients that they do one thing: avoid the news. I strongly urge them to avoid watching the news on TV, or listening to it on the radio, or reading it in magazines or newspapers. Why? Because the media sensationalizes and believes in the expression, “If it bleeds, it leads.” In other words, the media capitalizes on tragedy, negativity, pain and disaster. There is no way to watch or listen to the news and feel good about what’s happening in the world or the economy.

The real estate agents that I work with who are the most successful make it a strong intention to avoid the news. I even have a former client who has an internal boundary in place if anyone around her is talking negatively about the news or about the real estate market. She says to herself: “That may be true for you, but it’s not true for me.”

I highly recommend that you do two things; avoid exposure to the news, and if you are around people who are talking negatively about the economy, the real estate market, or the news in general, I recommend doing what my former client did. Just tell yourself; “that may be true for you, but it’s not true for me.”

The result of all of this bombardment is that most real estate agents have consciously or subconsciously bought into a false paradigm, and the false paradigm is, “I can’t succeed because of the economy,” or “it’s going to be challenging to try to make money in today’s economy.” In other words, most people have consciously or subconsciously given their power away to the belief that something outside of themselves can stop them from being successful.

That paradigm is called a Victim Consciousness. The consciousness that something or somebody outside of you can stop you from being successful is a Victim Consciousness, but you do have a choice. You can choose to embrace a different consciousness. I call it the consciousness of the Deliberate Creator. If you are going to increase your power to attract prosperity then you need to embrace the consciousness of the Deliberate Creator.

That means you embrace the concept of “if it is to be, it’s up to me,” or as Henry Ford said, “Whether you believe you can or can’t, either way you are right.” In other words, when you become the Deliberate Creator of your life, you take full responsibility for everything that happens, the good and the bad. And there’s the rub. Most people
