What the Future Holds for Brokers: CEO Exchange Panel Reveals How to Remain Relevant in the New Age of Real Estate

September 6, 2012
Reading Time: 2 mins read

With the increasing popularity of Web-based listing portals and virtual brokerage models, along with widespread access to information, what role will organized real estate play in the future of home buying and selling? How much does the consumer really need us?

These pressing questions were discussed at length yesterday during RISMedia’s Real Estate CEO Exchange, held at the Yale Club in New York City. During the session, “The Path Forward: The Consumer and Organized Real Estate,” panelists took a close look at the future of the traditional real estate brokerage model, and shared strategies for keeping brokers and agents central to the real estate transaction into the future.

Moderated by RISMedia President & CEO John Featherston, the following industry leaders took part in the panel:

Curt Beardsley, VP, Customer & Industry Development, Move, Inc. and REALTOR.com®
David Charron, President & CEO, MRIS
Bob Hale, President & CEO, Houston Association of REALTORS®
Barry S. Redler, Chief Marketing Officer, The Long & Foster® Companies
Kevin Levent, CEO & President, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers

Designed specifically for a select group of broker/owners, brand executives and real estate leaders, RISMedia’s Real Estate CEO Exchange was held September 5 & 6 at the prestigious Yale Club in New York City. The event will welcome approximately 140 of the most powerful and successful real estate brokerage leaders who hail from franchise brands and independent real estate firms located across the nation. These leaders will come together for this day-and-a-half-long event to exchange ideas and strategies to better meet the needs of today’s sophisticated consumer.

RISMedia’s Real Estate CEO Exchange was sponsored by Diamond Level Sponsors: Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate; Citi; Century 21 Real Estate; and Wells Fargo. The event’s Master Level Sponsors were: Lowe’s; Bank of America; the National Association of REALTORS®; and Prudential Real Estate and Relocation. Host Level Sponsors were: Imprev, Inc.; Mobile Real Estate ID; The Personal Marketing Company; Point2; The Real Estate Book/RealEstateBook.com; and SharperAgent by Market Leader.

A networking luncheon was held earlier in the day, sponsored by Century 21. The day-and-a-half-long event was capped off by a closing reception, sponsored by Wells Fargo and held in the Yale Club’s prestigious Library.
