Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, Nov. 13, 2007-Randy McKinney, regional developer of Realty Executives MidSouth, headquartered in Gulf Shores, Alabama, will be installed as regional vice fresident for Region 5 for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) on November 12 at the annual NAR Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada next week. Region 5 includes Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.McKinney, who has been the regional developer for Realty Executives MidSouth for more than ten years, has long been active on local and state Realtor Associations. He was the financial vice president for the REALTORS® National Marketing Institute in 1992-1993, president of the Manager’s Council in 1994, served as an executive committee member, national director, as well as other committees and task forces for NAR.

McKinney also served as president of the Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) in 2005 and is the author of Alabama Real Estate Post License Sales Training, which was a required text for Alabama REALTORS® to receive their Alabama real estate license. He was awarded the honor of being the 1999 Baldwin County Realtor of the Year. He is a Certified Real Estate Broker (CRB) and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).

“I’m honored to be serving in this capacity with NAR in 2008 and I am committed to helping the Realtor Associations in Region 5 over the coming year,” said McKinney. “Despite market conditions we still have a compelling value proposition to share with the consumer public and my goal is to make sure we communicate that clearly.”

In addition to his leadership role at NAR, McKinney and his regional team also support nearly a dozen offices and more than 370 Realty Executives licensed Realtors in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. A high priority for McKinney is growing the Realty Executives MidSouth region by implementing programs and tools that are designed for the productive, professional Realtor.

NAR is a professional trade association for real estate professionals. Its purpose is to help members to become more profitable and more professional. As of September 30, 2007, NAR’s membership totaled more than 1.3 million, making it the largest trade organization in the nation. The services and benefits NAR offers to members include government representation, continuing education, annual meetings and conferences, code of ethics, consumer awareness campaigns, and a variety of information and technology avenues.

While in his leadership capacity with the Alabama Association of REALTORS®, McKinney was instrumental in spearheading charitable efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina and victims of the tornadoes that swept through Enterprise, Alabama. In all, the Alabama REALTORS® Disaster Relief Fund raised more than one million dollars and helped over 900 families. NAR also participates in many charitable efforts through the REALTORS® Relief Foundation. For example, NAR is donating a half-million dollars to the California Wildlife Relief in order to help victims of the devastating wildfires that have left thousands of people homeless throughout California.
