Green Real Estate Designation Celebrates 4,000 Members

September 11, 2008
Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, Sept. 12, 2008-Closing in on six successful years as the leader in green real estate education, EcoBroker International, the Green Designation, proudly celebrated its 4,000th member this August. The milestone also coincides with another great moment in the company’s history-the fifth anniversary of the first graduating class of EcoBroker Certified(R) real estate professionals in 2003. Officially founded in 2002, EcoBroker has since been the clear leader in the green real estate training industry with its Green Designation, growing to more than 4,000 members in virtually every state, five Canadian provinces, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, and New Zealand.

“EcoBroker is truly the pioneer in the green training space and has paved the way for the industry over now more than half a decade, bringing the need for green real estate education to the forefront of the real estate market,” said the CEO of EcoBroker, Dr. John Beldock. “Our membership growth and recent competition are testaments to the quality our curriculum and the exceptional customer service we provide to the benefit of real estate professionals, consumers, and the environment.”

According to the company, EcoBroker is the first and largest provider of green real estate training for Realtors and other licensed real estate professionals. Through EcoBroker’s unique and award-winning energy and environmental curriculum (emphasizing everything from energy efficiency to solar energy to indoor air quality and green financing), each real estate professional acquires the knowledge to become a Certified EcoBroker(R). Each EcoBroker(R) then assists clients in their pursuit of green property performance, providing for affordability, comfort and healthier environments. To maintain program integrity, EcoBroker also requires all of its members take a continuing education course each year to keep abreast of the ever-changing world of green real estate.

A recent survey from the National Association of Realtors(R) indicates that 9 out of 10 Realtors® said their clients are interested in the energy efficient features of homes. The same percentage forecast more interest a year from now. Continued demand from consumers for most current information about energy and environmental issues, positions EcoBroker for continued long-term growth and success.
