Realogy Holdings Corp. recently announced that the company’s headquarters in Madison, New Jersey, has won the outstanding achievement award in green building leadership from the U.S. Green Building Council of New Jersey for its “Corporate Culture and Sustainability Practices.”
“Receiving this award validates our efforts and further underscores our commitment to being a good corporate citizen with regard to sustainability practices,” says Tom McGovern, vice president of corporate real estate for Realogy. “While constructing our headquarters in 2013, we took specific measures to use products that save electricity, improve indoor air quality, use renewable energy, and improve water efficiency. Today, as occupants in our new facility, we have built on that momentum by deploying programs with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.”
Realogy makes environmental stewardship a priority at its headquarters and across many of its company locations through recycling, conservation and efficient office management practices such as paper reduction, alternative commute options, local community initiatives, and other environmental friendly practices. More information about its headquarters’ initiatives and companywide efforts can be found in the Realogy 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Report released this past May.
On Oct. 30, Realogy will receive the award at the U.S. Green Building Council of New Jersey 13th Annual Emerald Awards Gala at the Conference Center of the LEED® certified University Hall at Montclair State University.
LEED® certification is recognized across the globe as the premier mark of achievement in green building. In 2014, Realogy received LEED® Gold certification for its headquarters building interior, and the building’s exterior received LEED® Silver certification from the Green Building Certification Institute. LEED®, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, promotes a holistic approach to sustainable development by recognizing performance in various areas of human and environmental health.
