Engel & Völkers has announced its expansion into Halifax with a new real estate shop opening, growing the company’s global network and luxury service in Canada. The newly established Engel & Völkers Halifax is led by license partners Sebastien Latulippe and Donna Harding who have run their own independent brokerage, Harding Real Estate Inc., in Halifax for eight years. The new shop will provide leading real estate services to home buyers and sellers all over the Halifax Regional Municipality, targeting the expansive area from Halifax out to Sheet Harbour, the Annapolis Valley, Lunenburg and St. Margaret’s Bay.
“Halifax is coming out of a market correction with significant development happening in the city core and all over the greater Halifax area,” said Latulippe. “We found our boutique approach at Harding Real Estate perfectly aligned with Engel & Völkers’ because of its strong company culture, core values, commitment to delivering the best client experiences and forward-thinking approach to real estate—all values that we look forward to strengthening in Halifax’s current market.”
With its impressive heritage homes and surrounding waters, Halifax is a prime real estate destination in the Canadian Maritimes. Buyers are attracted to Halifax because of its spacious landscape, proximity to the beaches and blend of country and downtown living. In the downtown core, the real estate market includes luxury high-rise apartments, condos and century homes, with many areas largely transforming to attract affluent professionals. Within the surrounding suburbs, the market consists of bungalows, contemporary homes and ocean/lakefront properties, also quickly becoming the number one destination for international buyers, retirees and those looking to downsize to cottage homes.
“Engel & Völkers Halifax is a valuable addition to our Canadian network of shops,” said Anthony Hitt, president & CEO of Engel & Völkers Americas. “As the Halifax market continues to globalize, Sebastien, Donna and their team’s expert local knowledge and proven dedication to providing white-glove client service will best serve the greater Halifax community during this exciting time of growth. We are thrilled to have Sebastien and Donna expand Engel & Völkers’ presence in Halifax and excited about their shared vision of introducing the benefits and resources that come with being part of a truly global network.”
Latulippe and Harding are opening the new shop with an esteemed local reputation, having already established several business ventures and leading successful charitable initiatives. Harding holds an FRI designation and is a member of the REIC faculty, teaching real estate courses to aspiring professionals hoping to obtain their FRI designations.
