Moving Decisions: One Down, Hundreds to Go

Home Consumer

movingRISMEDIA, September 24, 2009—Making the decision to move to a new state is just the tip of the iceberg for your clients. Then the real work begins as they’re faced with hundreds of new decisions and details to manage.

House hunting, mortgage rates, financing options, neighborhoods, school districts, packing, yard sales, good-bye parties, cleaning, bank accounts, taxes, site visits, storage, commute times…

One thing they don’t have to worry about is the move of their household goods.

Meet Denise Hall. After 34 years in the same house in the quaint community of Blacksburg, VA, she was ready to move closer to her kids and grandkids in Austin, TX.

While excited to be closer to family, she was increasingly nervous about the move. The whole process overwhelmed her, and her kids were concerned she might not be able to manage all the details on her own.

She asked her agent for advice. He recommended Hall contact the Move Advocate, a move management company that provides free services to people relocating out of state.

The service provides customers with their own personal ‘move coach.’ Part scheduler, part counselor and overall moving expert, the coach manages the many details required for a successful move. The coach identifies the best van lines in the area, obtains multiple estimates, and helps clients select the van line offering the best value. The coach is the customer’s advocate through delivery day.

Agents and others in the real estate industry partner with the Move Advocate to expand service offerings and demonstrate their commitment to their customers’ total relocation needs.

“I always tell clients moving long distance to call the Move Advocate,” said Tammy Robinson, Realty Unlimited®. “It’s a free service to offer, and they are impressed I’m going above and beyond the sale of their home to help with the next phase of their move. I always look for ways to provide my clients more resources than they would get from any other agent.”

“The move went really well,” said Hall from the front porch of her new home in Austin. “Christy, the coach I worked with, guided me through the many decisions I had to make, and I knew she had my best interest at heart. It was great to have someone I trusted help me through the move. I hadn’t heard of a service like this before. I’m very thankful my agent told me about them.”

The Move Advocate
With over 20 years managing long distance moves, the Move Advocate has a network of the top rated van lines around the nation and leverages their volume of moves to pass on discounts of up to 62% to your clients.

If a move is over 50 miles or across state lines, refer your clients to the Move Advocate. They will arrange free, no obligation, in-home estimates from the best van lines in the area; and walk your clients through each step of the process for a successful move.
