RISMEDIA, October 3, 2009—Blockbuster Inc. has released a new list of the most loved movies according to the experts- the fans who watch them. The movies receiving the most love from viewers include all three films in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, four family movies by Pixar Animation Studios, two films based on Stephen King stories and titles from almost every major movie genre.
Blockbuster created the Top 100 Most Loved Movies list to provide consumers with great movie recommendations for those nights when they’re not sure what they want to watch. Customers can use the list to check out top-rated movies they might have missed or a favorite title they haven’t watched in a while.
The Most Loved Movies list represents the titles that have received the most five-star ratings from users of the Blockbuster website. The five-star rating system helps Blockbuster establish movie recommendations for users based on past viewing likes and dislikes. Users rate movies on a scale with the lowest rating (a half star) indicating “I really hated this movie” and five stars designating “I really loved this movie.”
